Jez Corden: Lockhart will have a similar shape to an Xbox One S, Series X will not cost more than PS5

In recent days there has been a lot of talk about Lockhart,Microsoft's supposed next-gen "low-end" console that would offer us a gaming experience indistinguishable from that of Xbox Series X (same graphics and performance) but with a resolution reduced to 1080p and without a disc player, This would save on the player, GPU and consequently on the cooling system thus proposing a much cheaper console (it is thought to cost at launch around 300-350 euros).

Many already think that this console will be called Xbox Series S,to make a parallel with the current generation where we have a weaker console, the One S, and a more powerful one, the One X.

But what form will it take? Many had assumed, quite unrealistically we have to say, that it was a reduced version of the Series X, with a more cubic form, but it seems that this is very far from reality. According to renowned journalist and insider Jez Corden,in fact, this version of the console will have a more classic shape, similar to an Xbox One S All-Digital. And this certainly makes sense: with a less powerful GPU and no optical reader, the console will also have a smaller internal power supply and will be able to use a classic cooling system like the one we have in this Gen, which will lead to a more usual form factor.

But this isn't the only anticipation that good Jez has let go of in the last few hours: the Windows Central founder also stated in a tweet that Xbox Series X will not cost more than PS5; if this is true, it will be a great presentation for the Microsoft console that will not only be more powerful and smaller than the competitor, but will be able to face it head on the price front as well.

Of course, this is all unofficial speculation for now: we await Microsoft's announcements for confirmation!
