Codemasters announces the return of the road racer GRID
We leave below a series of official information and the first images of the game, while more information and a complete revelation of the title will arrive during the E3.
The fourth game in the series, GRID offers an intense action spanning four continents in some of the world's most famous roads and circuits. Choose Cars from GT, Touring, Stock, Muscle, Super-Modified and more, and different types of races including Circuit, Street Racing, Ovals, Hot Laps, Point-to-Point and World Time Attack.
GRID offers the perfect balance, risks and rewards for all types of pilots. Management is incredibly responsive, with a learning curve targeting both casual arcade players and simulation pilots. The progression is rewarded through liveries, player cards, team mates, rewards and driving accolades. Pilots to push the player to the limit, to allow them to earn a place on the podium and the final victory in the GRID World Series Championship. Realistic damage can affect vehicle performance and driveability; Excessive contact with the same driver, however, will unleash the latter until you become your nemesis, he will stop at nothing to get his revenge in the race.
Now considered as one of the best modern F1 riders, Endurance and Stock Racing, Fernando Alonso has signed as a Race Consultant and will appear in the game. Players will participate in a series of events against some members of the team ' FA Racing ' Esports of Alonso, through several classes of racing, before being face to face with the former world champion in his infamous Renault R26 F1, in a final event.
"Grid as a racing franchise is revered by our community and we are pleased to bring it to the current generation of consoles," said Chris Smith, Game DIRECTOR of grid at Codemasters. "The game offers so much variety and depth, from the number of modern and classic cars to the locations and the race options. Renowned for its driving sensation, the game caters to all types of players, from the occasional riders who are looking for a challenge, to the Sim riders who want to have some serious fun.
We are also happy to work alongside Fernando Alonso, who is probably one of the biggest pilots in the world. His experience and knowledge allowed us to improve both the performance and the management of our cars. We are very proud of your participation in the game and as a Race Consultant. We can't wait for our players to dive into the final version of the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, this September."
Fernando Alonso added: "having competed in F1, in Endurance and Stock Racing, GRID is the perfect game for me and I'm glad that the studio has added both me and my Racing team in the game. GRID offers a lot of variety and I will accept the challenge when players take sides against me."
