Rainbow Six Siege: Ubisoft explains what the post-launch support

With the approach of Rainbow Six: Siege , scheduled for 1 November, Ubisoft wanted to explain today how it will continue to support the game and the community after the release so keep players always engaged in new activities. We thus discover that the 12 months of the launch will be characterized by 4 different seasons, all free content: here are all the details along with a video that illustrates this post-launch releases.

TOM CLANCY'S RAINBOW SIX ® SIEGE: LONG-TERM PROJECTS

Since the beginning of the project, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six ® Siege, the development team at Ubisoft Montreal knew she wanted something different and surprising. Our goal is to give an incredible online multiplayer experience and chose to commit to provide a service, in which we spend much of our time. We imagined a title to play regularly, not a game that runs once. For this to be possible, we will support actively Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six ® Siege with calibrations of gameplay (and detailed notes on the patch), events, competitions and the publication of four significant additional content without having to pay for them.

A team of about 80 people will view the fan feedback and to monitor statistics of game, to be sure to provide the best possible experience and to create opportunities for growth within the community and title. The system operators, the multiplayer modes and hunt for terrorists have been designed to expand and meet the needs of a constantly evolving game.

One year, four seasons. No additional payment.

YearOneRoadmap

The new content will be published during the year in the form of seasons, which will coincide with the gameplay. You can expect:

  • 4 new maps  (for online multiplayer and hunting terrorists)
  • 8 new entrants , with new weapons and primarie/secondarie unique gadgets
  • New aesthetic objects
  • New modes, events e/o activities

Maps and modes are free and available to everyone right away. New entrants and most weapons skins can be unlocked with a currency called fame or with credits R6 (read on for more information). The only content that can be purchased will be some skin special weapons, whose effects are purely cosmetic and does not affect the gameplay. Being a multiplayer PvP online, it is essential not to divide the community and introduce "pay-to-win". In this way, we hope to keep players and keep alive for a long time their interest.

OurPhilosophy

Fame and credits R6

The system of currency used to unlock new content aims to create a balance between those who want to be rewarded for playing time (with fame, guadagnabile) and those who prefer to have everything at once (with the R6, credits can be purchased). It's not easy, because we don't want anyone to feel obligated to pay. So, how does this work?

Fame

Earn Reputation with virtually every action you make in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six ® Siege: completing simulations and hunting for terrorists or in online multiplayer. This is the base currency you will use to progress through the game. You can use it to unlock players, weapons, weapon skins, and even after the content output. Here are some factors that will influence the Reputation gain in the game:

  • Win or lose a game
  • Uccisioni/Assist/Rianimazioni
  • You will gain more fame with matches
  • Kill your teammates will have an adverse effect on the reputation earned
  • You can get fame with daily challenges or with actions like viewing the tutorial

R6 Credits

R6 credits are the currency option available from the manufacturer of your gaming platform. You can use them to buy power-ups of Fame (to help you get it faster), choose some special or weapon skin unlock new entrants. Upon exit, you will have 5 packages (600, 1200, 2670, 4920, 7560 R6 credits): the more expensive ones offer more credits than the price.

How much will it cost to unlock the contents after the release?

The new maps will be immediately available mode for all at the beginning of each season. As for the rest of the content after the release, we're still calibrating the economics of the game, but we still give you an idea of how much you will need to do to unlock new weapons and skins.

Every operator available after exiting can be unlocked by playing for about 25 hours (roughly 25000 fame points). The data in our possession (also in line with those collected during the Closed Beta) indicate that the average user plays your favorite first person shooter 8-10 hours a week. Therefore, should do it 2-3 weeks to unlock an operator. Whereas the content of the seasons will be published every three months or so, we hope that users who play regularly will have no problem to save enough Fame to unlock both new entrants at time of release. Be accessed automatically by spending 600 R6 credits (£ 4.99). Remember that you will unlock much faster than 20 initial operators with the basic progression system (500 points for the first member of a unit, 1000 for the second, etc.).

Weapon_Overview

In the case of weapons skins, we wanted to make sure to please everyone. There will be five levels of skin initially available for purchase. And we will continue to add after the launch. You can unlock levels 1, 2 and 3 with a reputation, while 5 and 6 must be purchased with credits R6. 3 level some skins can be unlocked with fame or R6 credits. In the case of possible future beauty articles, these are objects that have no impact on the gameplay.

What to expect from seasons of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six ® Siege?

Operation_BlackIce

In case you're wondering what are the contents of the seasons theme, here's a preview of what will be released in the first months of cold, 2016:

  • new map 1
  • 2 a new operators, with new weapons and gadgets only
  • New skins weapons of each level
  • Gameplay enhancements

The basic idea is that every season has a significant impact on the development of metagame. New combinations are available, operators new locations to store for exploiting them to the fullest. We can't wait to see how the players will react to new items and to introduce new methods and events.

The game's release is just the beginning

The publication of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six ® Siege on 1 December is just the starting point of our game plans. We are convinced that it will be a very long title and can't wait to continue to support it as the community grows. We are very excited to start this trip next month and find out how to proceed with your help. The best way to communicate with us and provide feedback is joining the Subreddit or forum. Thanks for having supported so far and see you soon.
