Assassin's Creed Shadows: in-game screenshots and official details

After the reveal of the trailer of Assassin's Creed Shadows, the highly requested "Japanese episode" from the historic Ubisoft series, here are now some official details released by the publisher and a set of in-game images that give us an idea of the type of graphics and settings that we can expect.

Here's it all below!

Directed by Ubisoft Québec Assassin's Creed Odyssey), Assassin's Creed Shadows will immerse players in 16th-century Japan. The country is heading towards a brutal path of unification, where unrest grows with the appearance of new coalitions and the infiltration of foreign influences.

Experience the intertwined adventures of Naoe, a skilled shinobi assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful samurai of legends. Learn about their personal stories, meet pivotal historical figures, and create the duo's common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.

As Naoe and Yasuke, you'll master two complementary playstyles, with each character having their own progression, abilities, weapon options, and stats. Whether you choose Naoe's stealth skills or Yasuke's combat skills, you'll have plenty of ways to tackle objectives. With Naoe, you'll experiment with refined infiltration mechanics using lights, noises, shadows, and environment changes to avoid being detected by enemies. With Yasuke, you'll be able to take on larger groups of enemies with deadly precision.

The game will allow players a vast open world with a variety of landscapes that evolve through time and seasons. From spectacular castle towns and bustling ports to tranquil shrines and pastoral landscapes, feudal Japan comes to life with unprecedented dynamism, built from the ground up with the latest version of the Anvil engine and the power of new-gen consoles.

In these troubled times, information is key and will be at the heart of the revamped exploration mechanics. You'll build your network of spies to discover new areas and hunt down targets. You can also recruit allies with highly specialized skills and abilities to help you during missions. Creating your own customizable hideout will allow you to upgrade your network and train your new team. From the construction and layout of the base to the decorations and accessories, you'll be able to create a unique place to call home.
