This is one of those rumor that must be taken with extreme caution, but definitely worth reporting it: a user of Reddit reports that tonight the appeared on the Xbox dashboard One tile that referred to a mysterious "Halo 5 CP Beta", but receive a message after it has been clicked, saying he would not be available before 31 August. When is then returned to the home console, the tile was gone.

The interesting thing is that tonight, 343 Industries has posted on Twitter a short video of the Spartan helmet Locke, commenting with a brief " coming on August 31 ":

Now, taking the tweet alone, one would think that day will come a trailer that shows maybe the campaign gameplay in a mission of Osiris Team, the team captained by memo Locke, but if it was something more? If the "Halo 5 CP Beta" designated a "Campaign Preview Beta", indicating the arrival of a beta co-op game campaign?

Obviously this is only one hypothesis: that "CP" could have many different meanings, but the reference of 343 to Locke's helmet is an interesting coincidence. It is also possible, of course, Reddit user has invented everything and so there is no new beta coming soon.

We just have to wait for the afternoon tomorrow to find out what will be revealed.

Update : Major Nelson also did a tweet which suggests the same upcoming event, this time showing Locke in free fall on a planet .

Update 2 : a piece of the same video was released, this time from Xbox channel showing Locke who wears a helmet before emptying into the void. Note that the tweet goes back to 04:00 this morning, and says the news will arrive "in 24 hours". This means that we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is.
