Microsoft Announces cross-platform apps between Xbox One, Windows, tablet and phones

During BUILD conference underway today, Microsoft announced the introduction of a new system of development for "universal applications", compatible with Windows systems 8.1, 8.1 and Windows Phone Xbox One.

Similarly to what already takes place between Playstation and PS 3 life, in fact, users will be able to buy this app once and can then reproduce them on all devices to which such cross-platform technology will be implemented. The initiative is known as Universal Windows Apps , and cloud services we can also synchronize between our device all application-related data that we use, including game saves, in-app purchases, and more.

This new system will allow developers to easily develop your own app so that they are compatible with all devices, optimizing the use according to the system on which we are going to play them (e.g., guiding the arrow of the mouse or use the touch-screen is equally enjoyable).

Certainly a nice step forward for the Microsoft ecosystem, and an interesting development that could bring unexpected news also on Xbox One. This move is obviously also increase the Windows Phone applications, so as to serve as incentive to reinvigorate sales of smartphones based on Microsoft operating system. We will update you when we have news on the first cross-device app, and then also available on Xbox One, to be announced.
