NPD: U.S. sales for the month of February
Sony confirms the first place of PS4 in sales with about 286,000 hardware console placed in American homes, but Microsoft meanwhile has recovered remarkably posting positioning Xbox One only 10% below the competitor, with 258,000 console sold. Redmond home this is a great result, not only for having recovered the ground: due to the higher cost of $ 100, Xbox One has actually produced and earned more respect to PS4. Sony also loses $ 60 on each console sold, while Microsoft sells his tied or in slight gain: we let you do the math. Overall sales of Xbox 360 + Xbox One also continue to place the Xbox brand as the most sold in the USA. This bodes well for the March numbers, which thanks to Titanfall should see a strong boost. Wii U instead continue positioning itself in the queue than the two competitors with an 82,500 units sold: the release of the new Donkey Kong was not sufficient to overcome opposing flagships, but certainly gave a little oxygen to a stagnant for too long platform in sales.
On the software front no surprise in particular: CoD Ghosts still dominates the scene, while the new entry The LEGO Movie Games , Thief and Lightning: Final Fantasy XIII are located respectively at the second, fourth and eighth. Here are the complete rankings.
