NPD: U.S. sales for the month of December

The Agency's analysis of u.s. market NPD today released its usual monthly report on sales in the u.s. market last month, the first which saw staying for the whole of the two new next-gen console.

December results see Microsoft regain first place in hardware sales, with the resulting like the Xbox One next-gen console's best-selling with 908,000 units and Xbox 360 that old gen with 643,000 console sold. The gap with Sony next-gen front seems to be minimal, approximately 45,000 units, and Tokyo has said, adding sales in November and December, PS4 still retains the leadership of total sales. Both consoles were in a situation " supply constrained ", i.e. with less consoles in stores than they demanded the market, forcing many consumers to postpone buying in January.

Anyways both consoles seem to go very well in the market and it can be said that these numbers are a success for both: Sony is able to retrieve the lead he had lost with the PS3, while Microsoft is showing that the gamble of offering to the market a more expensive console was not all in all.

On the software front there are big surprises, with the usual suspects dominate the top 10 December: here it is.
