In response to a group of users of Reddit who demanded that Xbox One was able-through Kinect-capture of QR Codes instead of having to manually type the codes to redeem digital content, Mark Whitten of Microsoft has tweeted that the console can do just that. So it seems that we are no longer forced to type long codes with the pad, but simply put its QR Codes in front of the camera.

This is not however a new: Microsoft had already tried with Kinectimals, which allowed them to scan the QR Codes attached to Plush Stuffed Tiger to import in the game, but to work the thing needed ideal lighting conditions. The new Kinect will have instead of an infrared camera that accompanies that color, so it should no longer be a problem.
