New Xbox: rumor about the abandonment of Microsoft Points

Already in the past were leaked rumors that Microsoft was willing to abandon the system of Microsoft Points for the new Xbox, and today The Verge claims to have received further confirmation of this from sources close to the team developing the console. The site explains that Microsoft will adopt a system of "gift cards", some sort of prepaid cards that will add real currency credits to our Xbox Live account.
