And no, this is not an April fool. A few days ago we wanted to play with you presenting the news of a single Microsoft/Sony console, and released numerous updates for PS3/PS4: while the news was obviously a joke, the news they weren't and were part of the new site we were pulling up in great secrecy: MondoPlay.it !

A fansite for PlayStation fans

MondoPlay is a fansite as MondoXbox, but devoted exclusively to the lovers of homemade home console Sony. In recent years many of you have expressed interest in "a MondoXbox dedicated to Play", and among our users there are many PS3 owners who may not have even an Xbox 360 but that follow us because of our serious news coverage and always up-to-date, to the immediacy of the site and also for the excellent community that has been created over the years.

The purpose of MondoPlay is then replicate all the qualities of MX, a sort of sister site (or "dark side" also view graphic setting that we wanted to clearly differentiate the two realities) dedicated to PlayStation users, in what we hope will become a community appreciated and loved by fans of Sony which will find an ambience for a chat about their passions without fights and bickering with fans of other platforms and knowing that they will always be updated on all the latest news thanks to our constant commitment.

Community based on the comments

MondoPlay is an experiment: it is not assured that manages to achieve the same success of MondoXbox, but we will get all the passion and commitment that we make on a daily basis in MX. Initially, the community will only be based on the comments , without a forum dedicated: this is because, before opening a forum dedicated to all PlayStation fans, we want to make sure the site has gotten a substantial user base and constant over time. After all there is nothing worse than going to a forum and find it woefully desert, don't you think?

The Exclusive Selector: for those who follow both sites

The concept of the new site is to introduce you to the latest news and articles about multiformat games that already found on MondoXbox, with the addition of all content on the exclusive PlayStation titles. This means that you will be a good amount of duplication: If one news on new CoD or Assassin's Creed, you will find it on both sites unless you talk about unique features to one of the two platforms. But if you're going to follow them both, we've devised a handy function to afford not to be swamped by "duplication": the exclusive selector .

What is it about? It's very simple. In the right column of the home of MondoPlay were found on top of a switch that presents sides "all news" and "exclusive". Clicking it will pass from one mode to the other and can display all or only those exclusive news for Sony platforms. The site will remember your choice as long as you stay on the same PC and browser, and in this way you can continue to follow MX for all Xbox and multi-format News showing on MP only those exclusives. For "exclusive news" we are not only those related to exclusive games: for example, if a news story on the Move for BioShock Infinite, even that's considered a news exclusive.
