[AGG] NPD: U.S. sales for the month of February

The financial analysis firm NPD has released sales data hardware and software of the u.s. market for the month of February 2013. Unfortunately as it happens since NPD lets decide if producers disseminate their data or not, the photo of the hardware market is biased and does not allow us to understand exactly how they distributed the balance.

What we do know though is that Xbox 360 comes out winner for the 26th consecutive month with a total of 302,000 consoles sold in the month, while Nintendo declares 455,000 units sold by adding DS, 3 DS, Wii and Wii u. The new born Kyoto House seems not very well the difficulties: having sold about 50,000 units in January, it seems that even in February, the result has not been the most encouraging since an insider with access to comprehensive data, Kevin Dent said that sales of Wii U were much less than 80,000 units, which in itself would be considered a disappointing result.

On the front is not surprising software instead the dominance of Dead Space 3 , followed by the still strong Black Ops II and Crysis 3 ; also interesting to note how Aliens: Colonial Marines was able to appear in the Top 10 despite having been practically massacred by critics. The complete leaderboard.

UPDATE : the company of Macquarie Capital analysis has released the complete data for the three major home consoles. Add the ranking.
