Through an interview with the producer Yoshinori Kitase director Motomu Toriyama and the latest issue of Famitsu we can provide some interesting details about Final Fantasy XIII-2. When players have completed the thirteenth episode, many have questioned whether Lightning is really happy. Kitase and Toriyama explained that Final Fantasy XIII-2 will remove all doubt by giving us the final answer. In this new adventure Lightning, although no longer in possession of his abilities I'Cie, will have other powers provided by the developers equally powerful.

Regarding the short trailer released during the 1st Department of Premera Conferecence Square Enix, Toriyama stated that the mysterious boy who appears at the end of the video is a character that Lightning will be met in order to complete his mission.
