Come ogni anno, lasciandoci alle spalle l'E3 di Los Angeles tiriamo le somme sull'immensità dei giochi che ci sono stati mostrati durante tale evento: arriviamo quindi alle nomination del Game Critics Awards, premio assegnato da un team di giornalisti esperti del settore che, nei giorni precedenti la fiera americana, hanno avuto modo di testare ogni singolo gioco per poterne dare un giudizio finale.

Solo i titoli dei quali era presente una demo giocabile possono comparire tra le nomination: non sono quindi inclusi i titoli che i giornalisti non hanno potuto giocare.

Le nomination vedono trionfare giochi come La Terra di Mezzo: L'Ombra della Guerra, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus e Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom, ognuno con quattro nomination, seguiti da Assassin's Creed: Origins, Destiny 2 e Super Mario Odyssey con tre nomination ciascuno.
