Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4: Italian Campaign trailer and new details
At the center of the Campaign we find John Price's undercover operations, grappling with former allies turned enemies and with an unlikely understanding with an old adversary. In the background, South Korea is invaded, while a weapon capable of overturning the world order risks ending up in the hands of the fearsome Archer.
The story picks up from the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. After the assassination of General Shepherd, Price went on the run and Task Force 141 led by him was disbanded. A deepening rift has arisen between what remains of the team, with Ghost openly contesting his former commander's illegal methods. Was Price right to take the law into his own hands, or did he betray everything he had always stood for? Whatever the answer, he is now the target: Ghost and Gaz have been ordered to capture or eliminate their old captain. The clash of views is clear from an exchange between the two. Gaz states: "There is a limit... and it is one that we do not cross". Price replies: "We draw the limit where we need it, right?"
Not everyone, however, has turned their backs on him. Kate Laswell, CIA station chief, continues to stay in touch with the outlawed operator. However, she too may begin to look suspiciously at his way of acting.
Left without his old companions, Price will be forced to seek help wherever possible, until he joins forces with Valeria Garza, known as El Sin Nombre and head of the Las Almas cartel. She is certainly not the collaborator he would have chosen. Faced with a much greater threat, however, old rivalries must be set aside, as Garza herself points out: "Why stay on top of the hill and watch the world burn, when we can fight fire with fire?"
Meanwhile, North Korea has launched a full-scale invasion of South Korea, following a plan summed up in the words of Commander Ri Ju-Young: "We isolate the peninsula, then we invade." Private Park Hyun Jun and his squad will have to fight back to defend their country. The joint U.S. and South Korean Marines will be engaged in both ground combat and amphibious assault, in a desperate struggle for survival.
Intertwined with the Korean invasion and the manhunt against Price is an even greater danger. A weapon of war of unknown nature is on its way to a dangerous enemy, known only as The Archer. Laswell makes it clear: "You're carrying a weapon of war. What do you think will happen when that weapon arrives at the Archer?" The capabilities of this device and the reasons why the Archer wants it remain to be discovered. The answers should not be long in coming. The stakes are higher than ever: a single wrong move could have catastrophic consequences for the entire world.
