New images leak for the prototype of the XBOX Elite Series 3 controller
Among the most interesting elements that we can observe, a small display positioned in the dorsal part of the pad, between the two buttons LB and RB, undoubtedly stands out. The screen appears to be able to show scrolling text and, from the magnifications, it is possible to notice an icon dedicated to XBOX Cloud Gaming along with a reserved web address. This would corroborate the rumors that this controller, in addition to connecting natively to XBOX and Bluetooth devices, will also be equipped with direct connectivity to the XBOX Cloud Gaming servers, to minimize input lag when we play in stream.
On the lower part, however, we find the two particular wheels that have already appeared in previous rumors, whose actual usefulness, however, still remains to be clarified. There is also a restyling for the D-pad, which comes with a different design than the first leaked shots, demonstrating how different configurations are being tested during the development phases.
Another substantial novelty concerns the power system: in fact, a removable 1,528 mAh battery is located in the rear compartment. This is a lower value than the 2.050 mAh integrated in the XBOX Elite Series 2, but this figure does not necessarily mean that we will be faced with a reduced autonomy in the final model, both because consumption may have been optimized, and because this component may not represent the definitive choice for mass production.
These new images would therefore seem to confirm the existence and advanced state of work on XBOX Elite Series 3, even in the absence of an official announcement. Rumors continue to point to 2026 as the expected launch window, making an official presentation possible as early as late August events such as gamescom. Between the integrated screen, new wheels, removable battery and Clous connection, we will be faced with a much more marked generational leap than the previous revision.
We leave you to the images, enjoy!
