Crazy Taxi World Tour: SEGA announces the Closed Network Test, new trailer

The return of the SEGA cult series is becoming more and more concrete: Crazy Taxi: World Tour is preparing to make us whizz at full speed in 2027, but we won't have to wait that long to get our hands on a first version of the game. The Japanese publisher has in fact announced an upcoming closed multiplayer test that will allow us to preview the online sector of the game.

Registrations to try to access the test are already open from this page and will remain available until August 31st, while the event will start at 2:00 am on September 12th and end at 2:00 am on September 14th. This test phase will be used to verify the stability and resilience of the online infrastructure before the official launch. For this reason, even though the final product will include a story campaign and various single-player options, this specific test will be focused solely and exclusively on multiplayer.

During the test we will be able to choose between 4 different characters and get behind the wheel of 6 customizable cars with various tuning options, competing within 2 different maps. As for the game modes, we will be able to try our hand at both ranked matches and custom sessions with lobbies and tailor-made rules. There will be two modes available: "Customer Race", a free-for-all challenge for up to 6 drivers in which we will have to contend and transport as many passengers as possible within the time limit to accumulate the richest loot, and "Guards and Taxis", a new team mode that will see us challenge each other in three-on-three clashes.

To accompany the announcement also came a new trailer dedicated to the map of the West Coast, a classic setting and particularly dear to fans of the franchise. The footage shows how the game maintains the tradition of including real-life businesses along the streets. Since it is a wide-ranging adventure, we will be able to speed through scenarios enriched by real brands specific to each region, among which there are already well-known names such as IHOP and Amoeba Music, waiting to discover the stores that will characterize the remaining settings of the World Tour.

We leave you to the video, enjoy!
