Dune: Awakening arrives on XBOX and Game Pass in September, it will be Play Anywhere

Funcom today announced the arrival of Dune: Awakening on XBOX Series X|S on September 22nd. The console release will not be limited to a simple port of what has been seen so far on PC: we will have to face the entire saga of Book One of Dune with a cinematic ending, all playable (also) entirely alone thanks to scalable difficulties and advanced customization settings.

And there's more good news: Dune: Awakening will be included in the XBOX Game Pass catalog starting on launch day, with full XBOX Play Anywhere support, and will also be compatible with ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Cloud Gaming, further expanding the gaming possibilities. This will allow us to play it seamlessly on multiple platforms, with a simple Game Pass subscription.

On the technical front, we should expect a target of 60 FPS on XBOX Series X in Performance mode, with controls and interface fully optimized for the gamepad. The console version will integrate all the improvements released on PC in the last year: optional PvP mode to experience the entire game in PvE, redesigned end-of-game loop, backup tools for vehicles and base reconstruction, as well as countless quality of life refinements such as character customization and the removal of in-game taxes.

Funcom has also anticipated future content beyond the September launch: later in the year The Polar Cap, a new survival map located at the pole of Arrakis, with an icy biome and new mechanics, will arrive for free. In the meantime, a new trailer gives us a taste of what awaits us in the planet's desert: here it is below!
