Satya Nadella reassures fans: Microsoft is working to relaunch Xbox (and Windows)

During the latest report to investors for the financial results of the third quarter, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke openly about the critical issues faced by the company, confirming that fundamental changes are underway to regain the trust of Xbox and Windows users. The company is fully aware of the need to put consumers back at the center and to give the highest priority to the quality and fundamentals of its services.

Nadella confirmed that the team is working on what is internally referred to as the "return of Xbox". The main goal is in fact to refocus on the console experience and reconsider strategies related to exclusives and Game Pass, in order to reposition the brand as a strong gaming platform for fans. In this regard, Nadella cited the changes made last week to the Game Pass as a tangible example of how the management is trying to be quick and responsive to customer feedback.

This profound internal reorganization comes in response to the frustration shown by users over the last two years, and also involves the PC world in the round, with smoother updates, a return to the focus on core features, and various performance improvements for devices with less memory, with the aim of positioning itself as an increasingly formidable rival to competing systems such as macOS and steamOS.

Despite the hard work still to be done to strengthen the relationship with the community, the numbers confirm that the interest of the public is not lacking: the CEO revealed that monthly active users on Xbox set a new record during the quarter, accompanied by an increase in hours spent using game streaming. Monthly active Windows devices also continue to grow unabated, having surpassed an impressive 1.6 billion.

We hope these changes will translate into tangible benefits for us players and fans!
