After last August's announcement, we finally have new news of Shenmue III Enhanced: Ys Net has in fact released the very first official trailer, which reveals the renewed look of Ryo Hazuki's epic journey.

Along with the footage, numerous details were shared on the improvements that await us once we have launched the game on our Xbox Series X|S. From a purely technical point of view, we will be able to enjoy much faster loading, textures revised in 4K and support for upscaling systems to ensure smooth performance at all times. The atmosphere will also benefit: exploring the village of Niaowu we will immediately notice a greater density of NPCs, which will make the streets much more alive and realistic. For the most nostalgic, moreover, we will have an optional classic view, inspired by the first two historic chapters, to be freely alternated with the modern camera.

There are also several changes to the quality of life and gameplay, designed to make the experience more modern and accessible. Progressing in the adventure we will be able to manage the resistance system differently, restore health before fights and enjoy a smoother progression thanks to a reduction in economic obstacles. We will also have the option to skip cutscenes or dialogues, as well as being able to count on a more permissive window of time to complete the infamous QTEs. To close the circle we find a streamlined user interface enriched with useful alerts for purchases. The purists of the franchise, in any case, have nothing to fear: every single change or benefit can be deactivated to live the experience exactly as it was conceived in the original.
