Starfield: Terran Armada expansion and Free Routes update announced for April 7
This is a further step in the evolution of the title, which in recent years has continued to be enriched thanks to over a thousand community creations, usability improvements and constant expansions of the game systems.
The novelty that will have the greatest impact on the base experience is undoubtedly the Free Routes update. Thanks to the introduction of the long-awaited Cruise mode, we will finally have the opportunity to make interplanetary journeys within the various solar systems. Moving in real time from one planet to another we will be able to fully experience our ship, spend time with the crew and come across a whole series of random encounters, new activities and opponents. In addition to this, there are numerous other features designed to deepen planetary and space exploration: we will be able to get behind the wheel of a brand new land vehicle called Moon Jumper, visit new points of interest and dungeons that will increase the variety of settings, and take advantage of the new X-Tech resource to upgrade naval modules and our arsenal.
The free update will also bring with it two new recruitable crew members, namely Muria and a mini-bot, as well as several improvements for the management of outposts, including containers with shared inventory and the addition of a pet milliwhale. The level of challenge has not been neglected: in fact, we will have to deal with new levels of difficulty and opponents equipped with new modifiers, capable of launching more frequent attacks, inflicting elemental damage and taking advantage of extra protections. Finally, for those who have already completed the base game, a welcome improvement for Astrals is coming that will allow us to take a limited number of items with us in the New Game Plus after crossing the Unit.
On the plot front, the Terran Armada expansion will catapult us into a new and intense series of missions within the Colonized Systems. In this adventure we will be called upon to counter the continuous incursions of a dangerous robotic army, making decisions that will determine the very future of humanity in space. The DLC will introduce unexplored locations, new characters and exclusive reward systems. We remind you that the new narrative adventure will be included at no additional cost for all owners of the Premium Edition.
But the news does not end there. For those who love the life of a bounty hunter, Bethesda has surprisingly released five new adventures dedicated to the Liquidator Alliance, already available today. This content expands on the experience introduced in 2024 by offering us new wanted men to capture, new contracts and additional rewards. We will be able to access this complete package at the cost of 700 Creation Credits, but if we had already purchased the previous Alliance content we will receive these new adventures completely free.
We leave you with the trailer showing Free Routes and Terran Armada; enjoy!
