Here we are, "it's happening!". Asha Sharma, the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming, today announced the codename of the next Xbox, Project Helix, confirming rumors that the new console will run both Xbox and PC games.

In addition, Asha confirmed what Sarah Bond previously said, namely that it will be a top performance machine.

A little curiosity: it is not the first time that the name "Project Helix" has circulated in relation to Xbox. It was in fact 2016, in the period of E3, when persistent rumors spoke of a Microsoft project of convergence between Xbox and PC, called Project Helix. Apparently that project never died, and it resurfaces now, 10 years later.

Asha finally confirmed that we will start learning more during the Game Developers Conference 2026, which will take place next week, starting March 9. Stay tuned for all the information!
