Crimson Desert: the second overview of the game is dedicated to combat and progression
In Crimson Desert, how we approach challenges will depend a lot on our tactical decisions. We will not have to limit ourselves to using only weapons and skills unlocked over time, but we will be called upon to adapt to each encounter by taking advantage of the surrounding environment and our mounts during the clashes. We will have a truly varied arsenal at our disposal, which includes swords, shields, spears, greatswords, axes and different solutions for ranged combat. We can get hold of this equipment by purchasing it, discovering it during exploration, receiving it as a reward for knocking down bosses and completing missions, or forging it directly with our own hands.
The combat system promises to be extremely dynamic, allowing us to chain combos that alternate weapon strikes with bare-handed attacks, kicks and grappling techniques. To add an extra layer of strategic depth, we can upgrade our tools with elemental effects, such as fire and ice, making each battle more intense. It will be essential to manage the timing well and maintain a constant awareness of the situation: by reading the movements and attack patterns of the enemies, we will be able to perform precise parries and evasions to create the gaps necessary to launch deadly counterattacks.
As for the evolution of the character, the growth path will be closely linked to the fragments of the Abyss, a key resource essential to unlock and enhance our skills. We will be able to recover these fragments by defeating powerful bosses or searching for them in the vast world of Pywel, while some unique abilities can be learned directly by completing certain tasks. Even our equipment can be constantly improved using materials collected through mining, victories in battle or exploration. We will be able to further customize our style of play by combining bonus attributes and special effects on armor pieces; In addition, knocking down certain bosses will grant us access to exclusive items and costumes, allowing us in some cases to even wield their characteristic abilities.
We leave you to the video, enjoy!
