The wait for Lara Croft's return is finally coming to an end: Geoff Keighley revealed today that the next chapter of the Tomb Raider saga will be revealed at The Game Awards, expected for the night between 11 and 12 December, at 1:30 am.

The host and organizer of The Game Awards, announced on X that "the future of one of gaming's most iconic franchises" will be shown during the show. The anticipation came not only via Twitter, but was also spotted within Fortnite, in the virtual area dedicated to voting for the nominations of the event, confirming that the reveal is now imminent.

It's been several years since the release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018, the last main installment in the series, and we know that developer Crystal Dynamics has been working on the new episode for some time in close collaboration with Amazon Games. At the moment it is not yet clear if this new adventure will continue the narrative of the recent reboot trilogy or if it will be more connected to the origins of the saga; however, Lara's silhouette shown in the promotional material seems to recall the classic look of the archaeologist, albeit revisited in a modern key.

So we just have to wait for the night between 11 and 12 December to finally find out what new challenges we will have to face as Lara Croft!
