Raji: Kaliyuga, the third-person sequel to Raji: An Ancient Epic arrives
In fact, the main novelty concerns the camera: abandoning the isometric view that characterized the first game, the sequel makes a big leap into the action-adventure genre by adopting a third-person perspective. According to the studio, this transition was necessary to support the evolution of the gameplay, allowing us to immerse ourselves more in the action. All this will be supported by the power of Unreal Engine 5, which will guarantee an advanced lighting system while maintaining the "hand-painted" art style and Indian architecture that made its predecessor famous.
On the narrative front, the story will pick up six years after the pending ending of the first game. The conflict has expanded, turning into a cosmic war unleashed by the asura warlord Mahabalasura, which has shattered the divine balance. The big news is that this time we will have two playable protagonists at our disposal: Raji, now an expert warrior moved by faith, and his brother Darsh.
This duality will be central to the gaming experience. During the adventure we will find ourselves playing the role of both brothers, alternating them according to the events of the plot. The two characters will offer very different styles of play: with Raji we will use acrobatic martial arts and the divine Trishul, while controlling Darsh we will take advantage of the "dreamwalker" powers, manipulating gravity, time and energy. This variety will allow us to experiment with new combat strategies and explore the game world through two different but complementary points of view.
Nodding Heads Games has assured that, although the game is a direct sequel designed to give an emotional conclusion to the events of the first chapter (which reached 2,5 million players), the narrative is structured to be perfectly understandable even to newcomers. An official release date has not been announced at the moment, with the developers specifying that there is still some time left before the launch; In the meantime, you can admire it in the announcement trailer, below.
