Dying Light: The Beast shows itself in a new video
The trailer also shows the mechanics of parkour and map traversal, as well as the intense hand-to-hand combat that will characterize the title. The developers explained that they focused on the fundamental game mechanics, those most appreciated by fans of the series, to make the experience as realistic, challenging and exciting as possible.
As for parkour, this has been made deeper and more realistic: we will be able to go anywhere and climb anything, with realistic and well-defined movements and modified physics to make jumps and movements more correct. Endurance will not limit climbing, but we will have to carefully observe the paths to reach the most difficult points, in total freedom that encourages exploration. There will be no help: parkour will be a skill to master to survive and escape zombies, with over 100 new animations for the protagonist.
Combat has also been overhauled to be more physical, brutal and creative, with a new physics engine and more precise and impactful weapon strikes. Human enemies will use advanced AI with cover mechanics and up to 22 positioning strategies. Finally, the damage model will allow us to destroy up to 12 enemy body parts, with twice as many visible wounds as in previous games in the series.
We leave you to the video: enjoy!
