Released earlier this year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has won over audiences and critics alike thanks to its incredible turn-based combat, stunning graphics and intense storytelling, so much so that it is already defined by many as the best game of 2025. However, it seems that this is only the beginning: the director of the game Guillaume Broche has in fact revealed that Clair Obscur was conceived as a real franchise.

During a recent interview, Broche was asked about the future of the game and explained: "Clair Obscur is the name of the franchise. Expedition 33 is one of the stories we want to tell in this franchise. It's still too early to announce exactly what the concept will look like and what the concept will be, but what is certain is that this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise."

Broche also mentioned the possibility of sequels to the story of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, so we could return to follow the events of its protagonists as well as experience completely new stories. Although it is still early to know what awaits us, the ending of the game actually leaves room for further developments, so we just have to wait to find out what the future holds for this fascinating universe.
