Bandai announces isometric roguelite Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree
Here is the first information, the announcement trailer and a set of images.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree offers a gripping gameplay experience thanks to fast-paced action, charming characters in a hand-drawn style and breathtaking scenery, reminiscent of the atmosphere of traditional Japanese ink painting, as well as a unique soundtrack created by composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. All these elements combine perfectly to create a colorful world that appears serene, but which in reality hides many pitfalls, and where courage is the only way forward. Located in a remote land, the quiet village of Shinju is threatened by the evil Magatsu's desire for domination. Towa, the priestess of Shinju Village, joins forces with eight unique and reliable companions to defeat Magatsu and his evil minions.
Players can choose two Guardians to venture into each mission: one guardian wields the power of the sacred sword called Tsurugi, while the other wields the magical staff Kagura. Each guardian has their own abilities that can be unlocked and upgraded both in dungeons and through a persistent progression system in Shinju Village, which serves as a hub. In addition to the skills of each Guardian, players will be able to find different materials to forge and upgrade their swords, so as to make their fighting style and their pair of Guardians unique. As the Guardians carry out their missions across different timelines, the village will evolve over the years. Players can develop unique bonds with other villagers and learn more about their habits and histories, which are strongly tied to the functioning of the village. Finally, they will have to fight together in a series of challenging scenarios, conquer dungeons, and defeat Magatsu's minions in order to restore peace to their land.
