Doom: The Dark Ages is the biggest launch in id Software's history
According to what was revealed via a post on X / Twitter, the game has reached the remarkable figure of 3 million players. Bethesda pointed out that Doom: The Dark Ages reached this milestone extremely quickly, seven times faster than its predecessor, Doom Eternal. The thank you message reads: "Thank you for making DOOM: The Dark Ages the biggest launch in id history."
It is important to note that the press release specifically refers to the number of players who have tried the title. At the moment, the precise data on the actual sales of Doom: The Dark Ages are not yet known. This information will most likely be released at a later date, perhaps during Microsoft's quarterly earnings reports.
Regardless of how players accessed the title, reaching 3 million users in just five days is a very impressive achievement for the franchise. Doom: The Dark Ages launched on May 15 and has been available since launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
