Injustice 3 would be the next NetherRealm title, according to a dataminer

A new chapter in the Injustice saga could finally be on the way. According to a recent leak, Injustice 3 would currently be in development at NetherRealm Studios, the team responsible for the previous chapters and the Mortal Kombat series. The main source is the dataminer known as MultiverSusie, already trusted in the past for anticipations related to Multiversus.

In a post published on X (formerly Twitter), MultiverSusie said: "Injustice 3 exists and is in development. That's all I can say for now." The direct tone and explicit reference to the project immediately ignited speculation among fans, who have long been waiting for news on the future of the series. The dataminer then hinted that more information could come in the future, but for now she preferred not to share further details.

This leak comes at a time when NetherRealm Studios has been silent about any new projects after the launch of Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023. Since then, no official communications have arrived about Injustice, but numerous clues, including internal rumors and old statements from the team, had hinted that a return of the series was in the plans.

The Injustice saga, launched in 2013 with Gods Among Us and continued in 2017 with Injustice 2, has been able to stand out for its technical and narrative gameplay, set in an alternate DC universe in which Superman becomes a tyrant after the death of Lois Lane. The quality of the narrative and the characterization of the characters have made the series a cult among fighting game fans.

For now, no information is available on rosters, mechanics or platforms, but the mere fact that such a reliable name as MultiverSusie talks about it openly bodes well. With E3 now gone, the focus now shifts to the upcoming summer events, such as the Summer Game Fest, where we could perhaps see a first official teaser.

Anticipation remains high for an announcement from NetherRealm: the return of Injustice is getting closer and closer.
