Xbox will soon make it easier to tell if you can't start an installed game, and why

Here's another useful news coming to Xbox: Microsoft has announced the release, for users of the Xbox Insider program, of an update that enables special "badges" on the game boxes in the dashboard to indicate more clearly the cases in which these can not be started.

With the possibility of installing games from disc, from Game Pass or even from the profile of friends logged in on our console, there are several cases when an installed game may not work. Obviously if the disc is not inserted in the console, but also if the game has come out of the Game Pass and therefore we no longer have the possibility to use it, as well as if the friend who had installed the game on our console from his digital library, is no longer logged in and the console is not his home.

With this update, which we assume will arrive soon for all Xbox users, we can easily understand already from the dashboard when an installed game falls into one of these cases, through special icons that indicate if a game has been installed from disc, and therefore needs physical support, or if the license has expired due to the exit from the Pass or the absence of the user profile that purchased the game. Here is a preview of how these icons will look.
