Bethesda acquisition: Microsoft's intention is to have the first and best games on Xbox

News of Microsoft'sacquisition of ZeniMax Media, Bethesda Softworks and related studios announced in September raised many questions about the future of developing titles at Todd Howard's giant, leaving fans wondering about the exclusivity or otherwise of upcoming games.

In this regard, Xbox CFO Tim Stuart, at the Jefferies Interactive Entertainment Conference last week, stated that " the intention is not to remove Bethesda's content from Sony or Nintendo platforms, but we want the games to arrive earlier and be better on Xbox."

The goal would therefore seem to be to create exclusive (at least temporally) and better content in the Xbox ecosystem.

Immediately after the acquisition, Phil Spencer stated that Microsoft intends to honor the agreements made previously and that is that the two Bethesda games already announced as exclusive PS5 storms, namely Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo, will arrive on Xbox only after the exclusive period has ended.
