inXile: Wasteland 3 sled at the end of August

Here's news that old school RPG lovers wouldn't have wanted to hear: inXile Entertainment boss Brian Fargo today announced the move of Wasteland 3 to August 28,citing both logistical problems due to the current global health crisis, which forced all the studio developers to work from home, and the willingness to further refine the game after feedback from the BETA on PC.

This is the statement that Fargo released today:

Like most companies, a few weeks ago we started working from home and all this introduced new challenges that many of us around the world have learned to manage. We are delighted to see that the Wasteland 3 Beta has been so well received, but due to these new logistical challenges the release date has changed.

We have great relationships with Microsoft and Deep Silver and they support our desire to ensure the launch of the game in the best possible circumstances and to have a few extra months to make sure the game is stellar at day one. Given all this, The new release date of Wasteland 3 is August 28, 2020.

During this time, we'll be working on all the feedback and suggestions from Beta, optimizing, redefining and perfecting the game, making sure we have a great co-op experience. We're putting our heart into this title and we just want to have an amazing launch for a product we really believe in.

We appreciate the enthusiasm and support of everyone and will use these coming months to assure you that at day one, Wasteland 3 will be the experience you have been waiting for a long time.

Thank you very much
Brian Fargo, New10.
Studio Head, inXile Entertainment

We will then have to wait a few more months before diving into the violent Wasteland.
