Amazon Game Studios today announced the launch of a co-produced project with Chinese holding company Leyou Technologies for the creation of a free-to-play MMOtitle set in the world of The Lord of The Rings.

The game is in development for consoles and PCs and will see us immerse ourselves together with players from all over the world in the same universe reproduced from the Lord of the Rings trilogy; In parallel to this production, Amazon is also making a TV series set in the world devised by Tolkien.

No details or a scheduled release date for the game have been revealed so far, we are waiting for further information.
