Ubisoft: There are those who are taking care of Splinter Cell, but we can not say anything else

How long have we heard rumors about a new Splinter Cell, without ever being confirmed? For too long: Just think of the famous list of Walmart, which before E3 2018 guessed almost all predictions except the one related to Sam Fisher, or rumors about the announcement to X018 , TGA and the recent tease Of Luke Ward, but nothing: Our favorite secret agent doesn't want to get out of the shadows.

Now arrives however Yves Guillemot, CEO and patron of Ubisoft, who in aninterview WITH IGN explains that the brand has not been forgotten by the company, indeed confirms that there is someone working on the series, even if for now we can not know more:

"When you create a game, you have to make sure that you produce something that is sufficiently different from what you have done before. The last time we created a Splinter Cell, we received a lot of pressure from all the fans, who said "don't change it; Do not do this; Don't do that. " So some of the teams were more fearful of working on the brand.

But Now there are some things and some people who are looking at the brand and who are taking care of it. At some point you'll see something, but I can't say more than that."

Guillemot also added that, if so far no new Splinter Cellhas been released, it is also because of the fact that other internal Brands (Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Rainbow Six to name a few) have Caught the attention of the Company's development studies, and therefore it was difficult to put someone at work on the New Adventures of Sam Fisher; But it seems that it's not like that now.

In short, it seems that Ubisoft's willingness to resurrect the famous stealth series is there, but the question is: when will we see a new title in the series? For now the answer still seems far away.
