Rockstar updates us about news coming in the beta of Red Dead Online

Rockstar Games announced today that on February 26 will come a new update of Red Dead Online , the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 currently being beta , which will introduce new improvements including a new management system of law and sizes, a rebalancing of the weapons, the player changes to the icons on the mini map and much more. Read on for all the details.

Visibility of the player
Many reports have asked us to reduce some annoying behaviors of the other players and, in this regard, we have changed the way players ' icons are displayed on the map.

First, we will reduce the visibility of icons over long distances: your position on the map will not be shown to other players if you are farther than 150 meters from them. If you are slightly further away, the icon will only appear after firing. Will no longer be visible players in other cities or regions. This will prevent you from being targeted all over the map, from far away.

We will also introduce a system that will highlight the players too aggressive. If your style of play becomes too aggressive, your location on the map (and that of members of your Posse) will become more visible to other players, with a dot that changes from blue to red. Commit evil actions, such as killing or attacking other players or their horses out to Free Roam mode, special events, contests or missions commissioned, will increase your visibility. Less time will pass between a bad deed and the other, the faster it will increase your visibility. Returning to toe the line, the visibility will decline over time.

In addition, we will also add wide feuds the Posse and we will improve the truce. After being attacked, you can initiate a truce that will extend to all members of the Posse of your attacker. Alternatively, after being killed, you can challenge your opponent and start a feud, a feud between Posse or a feud between chieftains. During the Free Roam will start a mini-deathmatch where players rivals can fight and get points for each kill.

Balancing law enforcement and bounty hunters
Players who accumulate the highest bounties will be chased by bounty hunters who will try to kill them to get the reward.

Criminal behaviour is assigned a cut and there will be consequences for the Honor based on the severity of the crime. For example, kill another player will correspond to a full size, while attacking a local or an animal is equivalent to a size lower than if the crime is reported. Most harmless crimes, like poking at the corpses or steal, will affect only about Honor.

If your size exceeds a certain amount and the bounty hunters will come looking for you, they will try to kill you and you become a fugitive. The higher the reward, the more it will be difficult for you and your Posse to escape bounty hunters.

Daily challenge
We will also add several daily challenge to be completed in the beta of Red Dead Online. You can complete goals that span all aspects of life on the frontier to earn gold nuggets and PE. The challenges will be to collect plants, sell items to a fence, hunting and skinning animals, clean up dens, win Feuds and more. These daily challenge will expand over time with special challenges, prizes, bonuses for the series and more.

Other fixes
The sightings were invaluable, so keep them coming. In addition to these new features, we will deal with many issues reported so far by the community : some weapons will be rebalanced units including the rifle Varmint, whose precision will be compared to that of other repeating long firearms; loads of horses as the carcasses and skins are retained longer after death and return, voice chat will work in closer and more.

Next week, we will give more details on the new pages on 26 February. We're thrilled at the thought of the future of Red Dead Online and we look forward to sharing more news over the coming weeks and months to come.

In the meantime, you can get more PE to ascend in rank before February 26. Play in a Posse to benefit , including earning more PE in missions and events Free Roam. This week join a Posse to get double PE on these activities. Next week you will receive 20% extra on all PE beta of Red Dead Online.
