The Division: new details on the main story and more

In an interview with Xbox UK, Julian Gerighty of Massive Entertainment has provided new details about The Division 's main story, explaining that the main story will be divided into three plots running in parallel.

When asked how it was possible to make the story a pivotal point of the game, Gerighty responded:

" The solution was to divide the main story in three parallel plots, so that each mission in the game will be connected to one of them and will provide as new information for a comprehensive view of that part of history. Once all the missions of the plot will be completed you will get all the information needed in order to tidy up all the pieces of the puzzle but also a further development which will have a different perspective on the story. "

Gerighty continued explaining in what will be the three parallel plots:

"The first plot will explain the history of the virus, will provide guidance on responsible for creating the virus and about why they created and on whether an antidote. The second one will focus on factions, about their history and how to oppose them. Finally, the third will revive the infrastructure but also something which I can't anticipate anything. "

The interview has also involved Magnus Jansen, Creative Director at Ubisoft Massive, who explained that New York was chosen as the background of the story because it is the city which represents the pinnacle of society so it was the perfect scenario for mention of the decline. As for the aspect related to viruses and more specifically to its diffusion by means of money, this choice was made to give the whole realism typical of the titles Tom Clancy. And this is also the basis for the Christmas appearance of the setting, in fact Black Friday-the Friday in November during which are great pre-Christmas discounts-is the day that circulates the most amount of money and it was therefore crucial for the spread of the infection; Once people began to die, the city has shut down while keeping all the Christmas decorations.

Finally, it was explained that the black zone, the area where the clashes are taking place between the players, it will have no loading system and the matchmaking lobby, thus ensuring a continuous experience. So if a player kills another player, will be marked with a marker for a limited time, after which the indicator disappears. If the player continues to kill other agents will be placed a price on his head.

Please note that The Division will be released next March 8, while the closed beta will begin on 28 January .
