NPD: us sales for the month of October

The Agency's analysis of u.s. market NPD today released its usual monthly report on sales in the u.s. market last month. September brings two major surprises relative to trend news from previous months: the jump to first place in the Xbox One hardware sales and the arrival of an exclusive Xbox 360, Halo 5: Guardians , in the first place.

In fact, thanks to recent price cuts and aggressive policy of bundling, Microsoft console gets the 84% more consoles sold than they did in the same month last year, as sales positions at around 300,000 units. Sony also made a PS4 price cut in October, but probably on overtaking weighed the absence of exclusive weight: there was Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection , but it is nevertheless a remaster that obviously doesn't have the driving power of a new exclusive.

It will certainly be interesting to see how will the November and December sales, the two hottest months of the year, since on the one hand, Microsoft has the exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider and novelty as the new dashboard and Xbox 360 backward compatibility, while the other Sony host very important marketing partnerships like that for CoD: Black Ops III and on Star Wars : Battlefront .

On the software front in first place we find Halo 5: Guardians , followed by NBA 2K16 in its second month of and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate in third place, while it is interesting to note that the battle for the return of music games have been won so far by Rock Band 4 . We leave you to full table:
