As you know, with the next update of the Xbox 360 Microsoft Points will go "off course" to be replaced with the local currency of each country, in our case the Euro. Microsoft explains that this is a direct result of feedback from players, who preferred to see more live content without having to charge every time do conversions to figure out the real price of a game or a DLC.

If you participate in the beta of the new update you could already experience it for yourself, but for those who do not have Let's summarize what is going to happen with this step.

• Existing points : If you have a certain amount of Microsoft Points on your profile once you update the console this will be converted to its equivalent in Euro. IMPORTANT : the currency obtained with this first conversion is applicable until 1 June 2015, after which it will expire. All the currency loaded into the account after the transition, however, will not have deadlines.
• Points Cards : If you find on the market or if you have, you can still use the cards with Microsoft Points. When the riscatterete, you will be automatically credited to the equivalent in euros.
• Prepaid Cards : for those who do not have credit card, PayPal or other payment methods accepted by Xbox, Microsoft will continue to sell prepaid cards in different denominations; instead of being in Microsoft Points, will be in euros.
• Xbox Live Rewards : by 1 September, the Xbox Live Rewards program will be modified to provide a different kind of awards compared with Microsoft Points. It is not known yet whether simply will credit amounts in local currency or other means will be revealed all the 1 September.
