Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment confirmed today that Batman: Arkham Origins will be available in a new mode that will allow players to dabble with the award-winning franchise playing online with friends and opponents. The online component blends traditional gameplay of Arkham with the third-person shooter mechanics and is being developed by Splash Damage.

The online mode will be available for PlayStation ® 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system for Microsoft and Windows PC. The worldwide launch of the game is scheduled for October 25, 2013

The online mode of Batman: Arkham Origins offers players the chance to hunt, in the guise of Batman and Robin, to the more challenging opponents, be they friends or other players online. Players can also join in the ranks of an Elite Super-villains, alongside Joker and Bane and experiencing firsthand the emergence of their Alliance to defeat Batman and Robin, sweeping away from their path anyone try to oppose. Fans, playing as Joker and Bane, may also call to support a horde of reinforcements at any time.
