Microsoft puts an end to rumor: the new Xbox will work offline, Blu-ray confirmed

One of the most talked-about features of the putative next Xbox was eventually denied by Microsoft, although not through an official statement but through an e-mail sent to all employees to work on the new console. To ensure that all engineers working on the console were lined up on what to expect in terms of connectivity, the company has posted the following message.

" Durango (the codename for the new Xbox, ndr) is designed to create the future of entertainment, however, remain tolerant towards today's Internet. There are numerous scenarios in which our users expect to work without an Internet connection, and in such cases should be able to operate independently of the status of the connection. These include, but are not limited to: playing a Blu-ray disc, watch TV, and play a single-player title. "

In one paragraph we have then the denial of one of the rumor that made more chat network, while two more are confirmed: the presence of a Blu-ray player and a chance to "watch TV" via the console.

There are now two weeks 21 event: keep on following us.
