THQ MX vs. ATV clears, two studies and fire closes 200 dev

For THQ seems high time to leave, layoffs and cancellations: after the decision by executives of the company to abandon the series Red Faction , now the same fate was shared by the MX vs. ATV franchise, which will then with the recent MX vs. ATV: Alive to its conclusion. As a direct consequence of this decision are closed two Australian studies and a development section of the home to Phoenix, leaving 200 jobless developers.

CEO Brian Farrell has justified the decision saying the company wanted to focus on intellectual property more profitable in terms of quality, which could be attractive for public and industry through various gaming platforms. The new target of THQ, as reported, is not to produce more tie-ins to movies and games for children who no longer lead to big profits in the long run.

Our hope is that these 200 developers to find soon a new software house or large publisher that will give life to other guests for new games.
