Rumor: support for mod for all developers comes in late summer

In March we told you about the possibility that Microsoft introduced support for the mod, or content created by players for several titles, such as structural component of Xbox Live, making it much easier for developers support the mod in their games than today, when the whole structure of publication, evaluation and download the mod to be developed from scratch by every studio.

Today we learn from Windows Central that this reality may be closer than we thought. The UK site is in fact come into possession of documents for developers, where Microsoft illustrates the characteristics of the service by explaining that it will be available by late summer.

This certainly does not mean that by September we will see all games be populated by mod, but simply that it will be much easier for developers include in their titles for systems user-generated content , similar to what Bethesda has created for Fallout 4 and Skyrim or Halo Forge 5. This system, once released, will provide developers with all the tools you need to quickly introduce a system of modding in their games, complete with a search system, vote, moderation and so on.

If this materializes, we should see many more games "moddabili" on Xbox One than we have today, and will definitely be another pillar supporting the increasingly valid Xbox Live infrastructure. We have now to wait for official announcements: stay tuned!
