Mirror's Edge Catalyst delays of two weeks, will arrive on June 9

If you were waiting to play Mirror's Edge Catalyst on 24 may, you'll have to wait a little longer: Electronic Arts has just announced a two-week delay for the game, due out now on 9 June .

The reason for this postponement is due to the fact that the developers want to implement the new social features in the game, apart from wanting to benefit from feedback received from users who will try tomorrow the Closed Beta.

Below we present the official statement:

Hello everyone!

As you know, we are about to open the doors of city of Glass to participants in the closed beta. One of the main features of the beta and the full version is the social game, as highlighted in our newest developer diary.

Addressing the paths designed by SAYS, create their own time trials, climbing the charts and keeping in touch with their friends Runner are some of social gaming features that we are really excited about it – and we want them to be impeccable.

To support the functions of social gaming, we are using an innovative online technology. We also wish to ensure that we have the opportunity and time to evaluate players ' reports about the closed beta. For this reason we will grant a little more time to perfect the game, and the new release date of Mirror's Edge Catalyst is on 7 June for North America and on June 9 for Europe . We are confident that the two additional weeks will help to make the game as awesome as possible for you.

Thanks for all your continued support and enthusiasm for Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Faith's return is imminent.
