Phil Spencer: not a big fan of a "Xbox One and a half"

Lately there is much talk of possible new enhanced versions of existing console: the first to speak was Phil Spencer, who suggested that Xbox could be upgraded with more powerful hardware but still compatible with all current games; then came the recent rumor about a PS 4.5 , and obviously also the future exit-suggested for the end of the year--from Nintendo NX suggests that Microsoft and Sony don't want to fall behind the competition.

Now the head of Xbox area Phil Spencer Jeffers on the topic of reassuring those who have poorly digested a new console slightly more powerful than the current one. During a panel discussion at the event Microsoft Build 2016, Spencer has explained that it is not a big fan of the concept of " Xbox One and a half ", which is a slightly more powerful than the current Xbox One. Those were his exact words:

" I'm not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we are to make progress, want to move in terms of big numbers. I am not familiar with the current rumor, but I can understand the motivation of other teams in doing such a thing. For us, our product is going well. Has a good yield, is reliable, the servers are fine. If we need to move forward with something, like I said, I want to represent a substantial change for the people-an improvement. "

This suggests that overall Microsoft may not be working on a Xbox One. 5 as previously thought, or that, if they are working on a new console, will not represent just a small upgrade on the previous one but something much better and, as such, we could probably not see it before a few years. Obviously we will be listening for any news and rumor: stay tuned!
