New information and images about sci-fi RPG by Deck13 The Surge

There is some Bioshock and Dark Souls in The Surge , at least according to the intentions of Deck 13 , development studio to whom we owe the delightful Lords of Fallen . The game is a RPG with sci-fi setting, which opens with an original concept, away from the usual fantasy setting mold used for this kind of games.

Deck 13 issued new statements on the title, beginning with the setting of the game: the world of The Surge is in ruins. Systems, which are technological, social and political, have collapsed. These systems, although the world has suffered defeat, continue to work, creating some kind of " Event ", which revolves around the entire storyline of the game.

The protagonist, which would seem not to be trained for combat, wears an exoskeleton which enhances the skills, offensive and defensive. The Sci-Fi setting might suggest clashes mainly characterised by the use of firearms, but in reality the development team stated that the weapons that the protagonist will use will be primarily melee. Will you present an arsenal of guns, but these will not replace the combat-system developed by Deck 13 , but will serve only as a support. Speaking of fights, these will be very strategic, because we will have to discover the weaknesses of opponents before being able to shoot them down, deciding which parts of the body hit, something like what happens with the series Fallout . Except that unlike the title Bethesda weather here won't hang, but pass everything in real time, making it really difficult fights. The exoskeleton and weapons can be upgraded by inserting various bonuses such as health regeneration, or the modest HUD so that brings out the enemies and their weaknesses.

Developers are then resolved to create an original and challenging RPG concept certainly fascinating. While waiting to get new details, we leave you to new images released from Deck 13 , where you can take a look at the graphics of the game in pre-alpha version. The release date for now is fixed to generic 2017.
