Rise of the Tomb Raider becomes a survival game later this month; more content coming soon

Microsoft tonight showed us the next DLC coming for Rise of the Tomb Raider , Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch , but that's not the only news coming for holders of the title of Crystal Dynamics. The House of Redmond has announced that before and after of this content will come other two innovations: the Endurance Mode , available from December 29, and the DLC Cold Darkness Awakened coming in 2016.

The Endurance mode will turn the game into a real survival experience, testing the skills of Lara and the players. Activating this mode the day/night cycle of the title will make from day one can find raw materials and create ammunition and other items, while at night we will survive the onslaught of enemies human or otherwise. All the things that we use will result in a waste of resources: light the fire will require the use of fuel, the cold will kill us if we are not sufficiently covered or heated, health will be recoverable only eating food and anything must be retrieved or created using raw materials. The game will start with nothing and we will gradually create all the equipment and resources they need to survive: day by day, the enterprise will become increasingly difficult and the online rankings will show us which of our friends was better at surviving in the hostile environment.

The DLC Cold Darkness Awakened instead comes next to Baba Yaga and struggling with a mysterious illness stemming from an abandoned weapons research base during the cold war, which is transforming humans and animals Siberian steppe in terrifying bloodthirsty killers. It is basically a horde mode in which we will have to survive wave after wave of increasingly lethal enemies infected, while we will try to stop somehow the scourge.

Besides that arrive during the year packages of weapons, clothing and Shipping Papers, to keep the experience fresh and allow you to return to dress on several occasions the role of Lara Croft.
