It's official: Mojang joins the family Microsoft Game Studios

After various rumor, the news is finally official: Microsoft acquired Mojang, creators of Minecraft , for 2.5 billion dollars. They just announced it's Microsoft that two separate releases Mojang , from which we derive some interesting information: the first is that Minecraft will continue to be produced and supported for all platforms on which comes out today, PlayStation, iOS and Android.

The second important information is that the three founders Markus "Notch" Persson development study, Jakob Porsér and Carl Manneh will leave the study immediately after the acquisition. About the best known of the three, Notch, looks like he want to come back to work on projects more contents and less huge than the behemoth that has now become Minecraft, whereby it decided to sell the study using pensions to embark on new adventures.

But if Notch, Jakob and Carl had kicked off the Minecraft phenomenon, this has become something capable of living independently from their creators, and Microsoft promises to continue to develop and improve it by exploiting the resources and technologies-cloud in the first place-it holds. It was also confirmed that the annual convention dedicated to all fans of Minecraft, Minecon 2011, continues to be and will be even more addictive than ever.

Microsoft says that one of the purposes for which it has wanted to acquire Mojang is because of the possibility that Microsoft will offer you to reach new players, regardless of the platforms used: this is probably why they announced that the game will not be withdrawn from competing platforms and probably the only case of a Microsoft game released on Sony's console.

Noted the acquisition, we now know the first moves to expand and improve the world of Minecraft.
