Microsoft is continuing to investigate the possibility of enhancing One turning the Xbox Kinect

Following the news of Xbox Kinect, without One these days came another news story that has created some confusion among fans: Let's clarify. The news comes from a statement of the head of marketing for Xbox, Yusuf Mehdi, who explained that the company is discussing with some publishers and developers the ability to leverage the processing capacity percentage of console vacated by the absence of Kinect.

This has misled some to think that the console without Kinect will be faster than those who have it mounted, what's actually wrong. Microsoft had announced before the launch of the Xbox One that would allow developers to turn the Kinect to retrieve a 10% processing capacity: this statement falls within this context and therefore, when it will be made available to developers, all Xbox One and not just those without Kinect will this little performance boost, simply because developers will be given a chance to turn the sensor when not in use.

And is furthermore a foregone conclusion: the development on consoles is based on the assumption that all machines of a producer are equal to each other so that developers do not have to provide for multiple different hardware optimizations: one scenario in which some Xbox One are more powerful than others is therefore unfeasible.

Now we have to wait to find out whether Microsoft will provide developers with this-however small-increase performance.
