Frogwares has released a new and extensive gameplay footage of over twelve minutes of The Sinking City 2, the new Lovecraftian-inspired survival horror arriving on August 18th. The video offers an in-depth overview of a new setting and the pitfalls we will have to face in the game.

The film is set inside the Arkham Fish Market, once a bustling maritime hub teeming with merchants, fishermen and port workers, now reduced to a sad and decadent simulacrum of the evacuated city. During the exploration we will move through flooded corridors, abandoned shops, now silent workshops and rusty ships lying in the harbor. This desolate place is now infested with abysmal monstrosities, while the only remaining survivors have now succumbed to the madness caused by the inexorable advance of the flood.

The sequences also show the protagonist Calvin Rafferty grappling with the fights, offering a close look at the most advanced weapons that we will be able to wield and the most difficult enemies that we will be called upon to face, characterized by imposing dimensions and unpredictable behavior. Finally, the developers have confirmed that The Sinking City 2 will include the New Game+ mode already at launch, while HDR support will be absent at launch but will be added later with a dedicated update.
